Before you can text from a local Profit Dial number, phone carriers need to know who you are and how people agree to get your texts. This is called A2P 10DLC registration (Application-to-Person texting from a 10-digit local number). You do it once, in one guided wizard under System Settings › Profit Dial › A2P Messaging. The wizard has two parts. First you register your business (your "brand"). Then you register how and why you text (your "campaign"). Registration costs a one-time $100 brand fee plus $15 a month for each campaign. When your campaign is approved, you add your phone numbers to it and start texting.

Before you start

Gather these first. Missing or mismatched information is the most common reason registrations get rejected.

A live website on your own domain. It must show your business name and contact information. It must also have a Privacy Policy page and a Terms page, and both should mention text messaging. Social media pages don't count. If you don't have a site yet, see Launch your seller or buyer website.

Heads up: REI BlackBook website templates don't come with a Privacy Policy page. Add one before you register. See Add a privacy policy.
Your EIN (Employer Identification Number), in the format XX-XXXXXXX. Social Security numbers aren't accepted.
Your exact legal business name and registered address, exactly as they appear on your IRS EIN letter (CP 575), your Articles of Incorporation or Organization, or your state's Secretary of State record. Don't use a DBA or brand name.
An authorized contact: an owner, officer or other authorized representative who can confirm your business details. A virtual assistant or other third party isn't allowed.
A credit card on file for the fees. See A2P fees and timing.
Time to finish in one sitting. The wizard doesn't save a draft. If you leave before you pay at step 5, you'll start over.

Note: If you're a team member and can't start or continue a registration, ask the account owner to give you billing permissions under My Team.

Open the registration wizard

Click your name in the top-right corner, then click System Settings.
In the left menu, under Profit Dial, click A2P Messaging.
If you haven't registered before, you'll see A2P Brand & Campaign Registration. Click Begin Your A2P Registration. If your account already has a brand, you'll see your brand list instead. Click Add New › Create A2P Brand.

The A2P Brand & Campaign Registration welcome screen

The wizard has 9 steps, shown across the top. Use Next and Back at the bottom of the screen to move between them.

Part 1: Register your business (steps 1–5)

General Info.
- Profile Nickname: any name you like. Only you see it.
- Legal Business Name: copy and paste it from your IRS EIN letter or Articles of Incorporation. Small differences cause rejections: "LLC" vs "L.L.C.", "and" vs "&", or a missing comma all count as a mismatch.
- Check I confirm this matches my official business registration exactly, including punctuation. The button at the bottom says Confirm business name to continue until you do.
Step 1, General Info
Address. Enter Street Address, City, State, Zip Code and Country (United States or Canada). Use the address on your IRS or Secretary of State records, even if you've moved since. Match it character for character: "Street" and "St" count as different addresses. A PO Box or virtual address may be rejected.
Business Details.
- Business Type: your legal structure, such as Limited Liability Corporation or Sole Proprietorship, as shown on your official records.
- Industry: this starts as Real Estate. Leave it unless your website shows a different main business.
- Registration ID Type: leave it on USA: Employer Identification Number (EIN).
- EIN: enter it as XX-XXXXXXX, for example 12-3456789.
- Business Website URL: your site's address, such as www.samplehomebuyers.com.
Step 3, Business Details
Contacts. Enter the primary contact's First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, Job Position and Business Title. Carriers rarely reach out, but they might, so use details someone checks. You can add a secondary contact if you want.
Brand Review. Check every section. Click Edit on any section to fix it.
- Under Billing Confirmation, check the card on file. To use a different card, click Update payment method before continuing.
- Check I authorize REI BlackBook to charge the $100.00 A2P registration fee to the credit card on file.
- Check I confirm that all information provided is accurate and matches my official business registration documents.
- Click Pay and Continue. This charges the $100 fee and sends your brand to the carriers for review.
Step 5, Billing Confirmation

Important: You can't go back and change your business details after you click Pay and Continue. Also, the "submitted successfully" message can appear even when the brand submission had a problem. After you finish the wizard, always check your brand's status (see Check your status below).

Part 2: Register your campaign (steps 6–9)

Campaign Type.
- For Campaign Type, choose Low Volume Mixed. It covers both conversations and marketing for businesses sending under 6,000 texts a day, which fits most real estate investors.

Note: The text under this field may say "Mixed" is the best option. It means Low Volume Mixed.
- Don't choose Marketing. Marketing-only campaigns are often rejected for real estate.
- Campaign Description (40 to 500 characters): say who you text, what kinds of messages you send, and how people opt in. Describe the purpose of your messages, not your offers. Avoid words like loan, lending, foreclosure, pre-foreclosure, cash offer, debt and credit. They trigger extra carrier review and often lead to rejection.
- Example: "Sample Home Buyers LLC uses this campaign to text homeowners and real estate contacts who opted in on our website. Messages include appointment reminders, property information, status updates and follow-ups on their inquiry."
Message Flow. Describe exactly how people agree to get your texts, write the confirmation text they get when they opt in, and add your Privacy Policy and Terms links. This is the step most often rejected. See Write your opt-in message flow and sample messages.
Sample Messages. Write two different examples of real texts you'll send, and answer whether your texts will include links or phone numbers. Same article: Write your opt-in message flow and sample messages.
Final Review.
- Review the checklist at the top, and every section. Click Edit to fix anything.
- Under Billing Confirmation, check I authorize REI BlackBook to charge $15.00 USD/month for this messaging campaign to the credit card on file.
- Check I confirm that all information provided is accurate…
- Click Submit A2P Registration.

When it's done, you'll be taken back to the A2P Messaging page.

Check your status

Go to System Settings › Profit Dial › A2P Messaging any time to see where things stand. Each brand shows one of these statuses:

Status	What it means	What to do
Pending	Your brand was submitted and is under review.	Nothing yet. Check back later.
Approved	Your brand is approved. A Trust Score shows next to it.	Add numbers to your campaign once it's approved too.
Failed	Your brand wasn't approved. The reason is shown.	Fix the problem, then click Restart Registration. See Why was my A2P registration rejected?
Incomplete	The brand was started but never submitted.	Click Continue Registration.

Under each brand, each campaign has its own row and status: Campaign Pending, Campaign Approved or Action Required. Hover over the status to see details.

How long approval takes varies, and the app doesn't show an estimate. See A2P fees and timing.

Add your phone numbers

Your campaign needs at least one phone number before you can text. On the A2P Messaging page, click the pencil icon on your campaign's row, then click Add next to each number you want to use. For full steps, see Add or remove numbers from your texting campaign.

Local numbers can't send texts until the campaign is approved. Toll-free numbers go through a different process; see Register a toll-free number for texting.

If you stopped partway through

You left before paying at step 5: nothing was saved or charged. Open the wizard again and start over.
You paid for your brand but didn't finish the campaign: your brand appears on the A2P Messaging page with the note "No message types have been added to this brand." Click Add Message Type to finish the campaign. This opens an older version of the campaign form. It lists both "Mixed" and "Low Volume Mixed"; choose Low Volume Mixed. The last button on that form is Save & Add Messaging Subscription.
